What changes: before → after

This is the actual job. On the left, a manuscript the way manuscripts arrive. On the right, the same words after the PressReady pipeline — this before/after uses our public-domain portfolio sample, so you can check every word against the original.

Chapter I
❦

Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, “and what is the use of a book,” thought Alice, “without pictures or conversations?”

So she was considering in her own mind (as well as she could, for the hot day made her feel very sleepy and stupid), whether the pleasure of making a daisy-chain would be worth the trouble of getting up and picking the daisies, when suddenly a White Rabbit with pink eyes ran close by her.

✓ Smart punctuation ✓ Linked TOC built ✓ Exact 6×9 trim ✓ Copyright + title pages built ✓ Zero previewer errors

Inside a finished book

A chapter opening and the facing page, typeset by our pipeline from the same portfolio sample. Running heads, page numbers, drop cap, scene ornament — the details readers feel without noticing.

Portfolio sample — a public-domain excerpt (Lewis Carroll, 1865), formatted end-to-end through the exact pipeline your book will run through. Not a client book; client manuscripts are never shown.

What you get

📖 KDP ebook file

Reflowable EPUB accepted by KDP, with a linked table of contents, clean chapter breaks, and your front & back matter built in — plus the formatted Word source file. One file, every reading device:

📚 Paperback interior PDF

Print-ready at your trim size with correct margins and gutter for your final page count, page numbers, and running heads — checked in KDP Print Previewer before it reaches you, and verified page-size exact (our sample build: 432 × 648 pt, exactly 6×9 in).

🧭 Metadata & launch checklist

Categories and backend-keyword worksheet, a formatted description, and a step-by-step pre-launch checklist so your release doesn't stall on details — including the two KDP settings authors most often get wrong.

Spotted something after delivery? One round of formatting fixes is on us, within 30 days. And if KDP ever flags a formatting problem in files we delivered, that fix is free — any time, no expiry. (Content edits are yours — we're formatters, not editors, and we won't pretend otherwise.)

FAQ

What file should I send?
A Word file (.docx) is perfect. Google Docs exported as .docx also works. If your manuscript lives somewhere else, email us and we'll tell you the easiest way to get it to us.
Do you edit or proofread?
No — and be wary of anyone who bundles it all cheaply. We format. Your book should be edited before it comes to us; formatting an unedited manuscript just makes the mistakes prettier.
Do you design covers or upload to KDP for me?
Neither. We deliver files that pass KDP's previewers, plus plain-English upload instructions. Your KDP account stays yours — never share your Amazon login with any service, including us.
What trim sizes do you support?
All standard KDP sizes — 5×8, 5.25×8, 5.5×8.5, 6×9 (most common), 7×10, 8.5×11, and the rest. Not sure? Tell us your genre and we'll recommend one.
What if KDP rejects my file?
Every file is validated before delivery, so this is rare — but if KDP flags a formatting issue in a file we delivered, we fix it free, at any time. That's part of the deal, not an upsell.
How do I pay?
We email you a secure payment link with your written quote. Half starts the job, half is due on delivery — you never pay in full for work you haven't seen.
What if I change my mind — can I get a refund?
Yes, plainly: your start payment is refundable in full any time before production begins (we email you when it starts — that email is the line). After production begins it covers work already done, but your balance is never due until your files are delivered, so the most you can ever be out is the start payment on a book you chose not to finish. And if we miss your delivery date by more than 3 business days without a revised date you've agreed to, you can cancel for a full refund of the start payment. The full policy is restated in your quote email, in the same plain English.
I write a series. Can you keep every book consistent?
Yes — that's what the series style lock is for. We save your book's exact styling and apply it to every sequel, so book 6 looks like book 1.
Why authors trust PressReady: fixed prices quoted before you pay · files validated in Kindle Previewer, not just exported and hoped · your manuscript is never shared, sold, or used to train anything · a real human QA pass on every book · a written refund policy in plain English · and straight answers — if your book needs an editor before a formatter, we'll tell you instead of taking your money.

Your book is finished.
Let's make it published.
